Musica, Goléa, L’Atlantide
WHY I AM FOND OF TOMASI’S L’ATLANTIDE

by Antoine Golea

in Musica, March 1959

It seems to me that L’Atlantide, original and stirring in many ways, is perfectly suited for the Opéra Garnier. Its innovative structure goes hand in hand with an artistry that makes it accessible to the great majority of lyrical theater aficionados. The direct, absorbing music has its place in great lyrical tradition. I will always defend Tomasi, because I believe that he is a sincere musician who has something important to say. ”
